6.9 Million People Will be Suffering From Diabetes in the Coming 5 Years

The central government believes that diabetes is spreading so fast in the country that the number of diabetic patients can increase by 266 percent in the coming 5 years. Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Shripad Yesso Naik while answering a question asked on diabetes in the Lok Sabha on Friday said, “By 2025, the number of diabetic patients in India can reach 6.99 crores“.

While the government is running a campaign to prevent diabetes on various occasions, now herbal medicines are being given priority for its treatment. Herbal medicines have been discovered with the help of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, ie CSIR.

According to the Union Minister, the Lucknow-based Indian government research organization has made herbal medicines of Mudhameha. These herbal medicines are also scientifically valid and confirmed. Currently, Emil Pharma is producing these diabetes medicines.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, the rapid increase in the number of diabetic patients is quite dangerous. There are very few countries in the world where there will be an increase of about 266 percent in its patients by 2025. In such a situation, the Ministry of AYUSH wants to overcome this growing challenge by using both Yoga and Ayurveda together. Under this, the Health Ministry and AYUSH planned to work together in some districts of Gujarat, Bihar, and Rajasthan.

After the initial success in the scheme, now Ayurveda and Yoga are being taken to deal with diabetes and heart diseases at 52 places in Bihar, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.

Research of Indian scientists in type-2 diabetes BGR-34 is effective. This was revealed in the research of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) scientists. In the Lok Sabha on Friday, Union Minister of AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik revealed that diabetes patients are benefiting greatly from BGR-34 anti-diabetes medicine.

The CSIR under the ministry prepared it after extensive study and long trials in laboratories in Lucknow. Type 1 diabetes patients have benefited greatly from this and now after BHU research, the government will use it for type 2 patients as well.

Union Minister of AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik said that CSIR scientists under the ministry have prepared a drug called BGR-34 after extensive study which contains many drugs that are helpful in controlling diabetes.
