Watch Amazon Prime Video on a Smart TV:

One of the best ways to watch Amazon Prime on TV is, well, to buy a Smart TV. Or at least, the right one. Most smart TVs that have been released in the last three or four years and even more for some brands are sold with the pre-installed Amazon Prime Video app. All you have to do is sign in with your Amazon account and you’re ready to start watching your favorite shows and movies.

Supported Smart TVs are available from Samsung, Sony, LG  and more. Some, from companies like Toshiba and Insignia, have built-in Amazon Fire TV, while  TCL’s smart TVs use Roku TV. It’s hard to run into problems with Amazon Prime Video if you buy a new smart TV. If the app is not already pre-installed, it will certainly appear in the list of featured apps.

How to get Amazon Prime Video on a smart TV:

Samsung Smart TV:

  • Press the Smart Hub button on the remote control.
  • Select Samsung Apps.
  • Select Prime Video.

LG Smart TV:

  • Press the My apps button on the remote control.
  • Select Prime Video from the app launcher.

Sony Smart TV:

  • Press the Home button on the remote control.
  • Open featured apps (or all apps).
  • Select Prime Video.

There are still some things to consider before giving yourself the luxury of a new TV, like screen resolution. You can enjoy 4K Ultra HD content on Prime Video. However, while 4K TVs are becoming cheaper, you can definitely save a lot of money by choosing a Full HD TV.

Watch Amazon Prime Video on a game console:

If you already have a game console or are thinking of buying one, the good news is that you don’t need anything else to enjoy Amazon Prime on your TV. The Prime Video app is available on Sony PlayStation 3,  PlayStation 4  and  PlayStation 4 Pro, plus  Xbox One X, Xbox One S  and Xbox 360.

But I have to remind you that 4K Ultra HD content is only available on PS4 Pro, Xbox One X and Xbox One S. You’ll have HD streaming with others.
