The BBC have nabbed the broadcasting rights for The Heights, an ABC present that was filmed in Perth.
The first season will air as a daytime drama on the BBC from mid June, with plans to air the second season additionally.
“This slice of life from the melting pot that is urban Australia is loaded with humour and drama and quickly draws you into the very diverse lives of its characters,” Carla-Maria Lawson, head of BBC daytime and early peak, stated.
“Daytime viewers love drama with compelling story telling at its heart and The Heights does that brilliantly.”
The Heights includes a dazzling line up of Perth stars, together with actress Roz Hammond, Marcus Graham, Dan Paris, Kelton Pell, Craig Fong and Carina Hoang.
“Australian viewers have taken the diverse mix of families living in Arcadia Heights to their hearts and we are enormously proud of the show,” Matchbox Picture managing director Alastair McKinnon stated.
“With British viewers’ undoubted enthusiasm for Australian soap operas, we feel very excited about the potential for The Heights on BBC One.”
