Target to Reduce TB Death Patient 90 Percent Tuberculosis

The Government of India wants to reduce deaths due to TB across the country by 90 percent. It may take five years for the government to meet this ambitious target. Currently, thousands of TB patients die every year in their homes or hospital. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan told that the Government of India wants to bring the deaths from TB to an equal level.

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan says that his ministry has resolved to reduce TB deaths by 90 percent by the year 2025. Last year, 69 thousand 375 people died due to TB disease across the country.

According to an international report, TB is one of the 10 leading causes of deaths worldwide. In most of the cases in India, the patients have benefited from getting the right treatment. So far, 18 lakh 19 thousand 873 new TB patients have appeared in the current financial year. At the same time, the total number of TB patients in the year 2018 was 21 lakh 55 thousand 894.

The aim of the government is to reach every patient of TB and to provide correct and accurate treatment. Transporting medicines for TB patients in remote areas and villages is quite complicated. For this, the government has started community cooperation, support and communication, health center and tuberculosis inter-ministerial cooperation. For this, the private health sector was included in this program. Also, the corporate sector has also been added to the mission to fight TB.
